i know a kid, Who
fell asleep behind
the wheel in his car
but he drove very far
over hills and through
forest green unto
golden sunny light...where
everything's alright
when i start from the bottom
i see the details in a sunbleached photograph
amnesia's growing thick inside me
and you're becoming such a stranger
pretend we're on a wooly mammoth
playing tag and holding onto the tusks
i'll try to keep my heart from breaking
with the glue that you gave me
army ants
they crawl into my mouth, they crawl into my pants
crocodiles
they smile and smile and smile
drag me through this boggy marsh
and pull me into the green sea
i know a kid Who
talks to concubines
sleeps with serpentines
slithering sarcasm
speaks in forked tongues
leaves his songs unsung
hummed in oil drums...but
everything's alright
