Adrienne's annual Tchaikovsky Festival takes place in the middle of April this year; I must remember to adjust my schedule accordingly so that I may attend.
It seems that Irene Machiban, a schoolmate of mine from St. Gabriel's, will be preforming the leading role of Odette in the production of Swan Lake! I'm thrilled to see her advancing so quickly. I oughtn't be surprised, however; Irene has always been a brilliant dancer. Adrienne himself once said that all he could add to her was a knowledge of technique and the French language. Everything else was natural.
It's a joy to watch her.
I miss the lessons with Adrienne.
There is something about the precise movements and delicate grace of ballet that is inherently calming. I regret not making time to continue my studies, but matters of state must always take precedence.
It's also vaguely frustrating to be out of practice. My mind is convinced my body can still do the splits and jumps it used to do when I still practiced at least an hour a day. I can manage (remarkably), but the grace and ease are lacking where I once had complete control.
I could never have considered ballet as a career... but I do miss the dancing.
Aside from that, two more members of the Cinq Kingdom cabinet have come around to my side of the issue and seem to be quite pleased with themselves.
I am likewise pleased.
