Hello all,
I need some help from someone who speaks Japanese. I need to tell my sensei that I won't be able to come to her class because of an important dean and student council meeting. I'm trying to write something along the lines of:
Dear Yumi-san!
It's Anna. I'm really sorry but I can't come to your class today. I'm part of the student council and today at 12:30 there is a very important meeting of student council and the dean. I have to participate in the meeting. I'm really sorry.
Moreover, next week on Tuesday at 13:00 we have a University Christmas meeting. Everyone will be there, there will be tea, coffee and cake. We would be really glad if you came!

(I know it doesn't sound too formal, but I think it would be better if Yumi-san knew I wrote it myself rather than just copied ;p)
As for now, I managed to write (sorry for no kana nor kanji, I don't have the Jap keyboard installed here):
Yumi-san!
Kochira-wa Anna desu. Hontou sumimasen ga, watashi-wa Yumi-san-no kyou-no jugyou-ni ikimasen. Kyou, juniji-han-ni seitokai to gakubuchou-no impoutanto kaigi-ga arimasu. Watashi-wa seitokai-no hito desu-kara, kono kaigi-ni ikanakute-wa narimasen. Sumimasen.
