LISTEN UP, EVERYONE!

Warden elections are starting, so this is what I need you to do. First off: memorize my name. I'm Julian Keller, otherwise known as Hellion to some people. That name might not sound that promising, but that's because you don't know where I got it ( Read more... )

Generally, politicians are a little more personable in their statements. Coming off like, "Vote for me or else," isn't going to win you any friends... or votes.

That isn't how it sounds.

Maybe not in so many words, but generally when you shout, "Listen, up!" like you're barking an order, I imagine there's a segment of the population that... won't on general principle.

Listing your qualifications, and maybe some particulars on how you're going to help the City, instead of just saying what needs help would be good, too.

...I'm not saying you shouldn't do this, I just think that maybe you should have thought it through more before shouting at the whole City.

Maybe you're just planning on me failing, because I think I've got a lot of that covered. Trying to get people's attention? Not a bad plan, and I'm not gonna represent myself for someone I'm not. This is who I am. I'm good at what I do, and up there? I've got plans.

If you don't wanna vote for me because you don't like what you see, fine. What's there is there.

Julian. It's called constructive criticism.

You say the force will come up with something to handle the curses and aftermaths - what something? Who's running it? What if they're cursed?

And you say we can't wait until something pops up on the network to act - what are your other options? How will you know?

These are questions I'd expect any candidate to answer, Julian, not just you.

A hierarchy. Nothing is completely flawless without any idea of how it's gonna go. We have people keeping an eye on the nature of the curses, making sure that the City's safe. Nakamura mentioned a hotline, but waiting for that call might be a bit too late. What if it's you? Or me? Bunch of people could be messed up by then, but I already know from first hand experience that there are people working there that want to keep this place from being hurt during curses. If the first five people in a chain are injured, you go to the sixth. It's all about helping in the end.

There are ways of patrolling. Like I said-keep an eye on things, make sure the curses can be checked up on. There are patterns. I've picked up on them, and I know you have, too. Follow the patterns and see what we can do. I don't know that we can stop everything, that we can keep an order for everything, but it's better than sitting back and trying nothingNo, it's not completely hammered out, but you know what? It's better than nothing. Which is just what the City has ( ... )

Then good luck, Julian. And yes, I mean that sincerely.

You're welcome.

I just wanted to make sure you're doing it for the right reason. I'm sorry if I came off as... attacking-like.

I don't do power trips just because it might be nice to have a position. That isn't how I work.

Actually, I was talking about guilt. I heard about your little one-man pro-mutant curse-day demonstration. And believe me I know how that curse guilt can push you to extremes.

Heh, that isn't how I work either. Better to channel that into important things.

Speaking of important things... I still need to evaluate your skills.
