I'm curious as to whether that particular book is worth the time, or not.

The opening is definitely intriguing. Does the rest hold up?

I loved that book; it's my favorite by Glen Duncan.
It probably isn't for everyone... Lots of sex, drugs, gratuitous language. All the stuff that makes for an entertaining read. I found the book while backpacking years ago in a tiny bookshop in Italy and finished in 36hours - I couldn't put it down.

So yes, recommended.

Thank you, for the recommendation.

I am going to find it. Good books are getting harder to find, and this one intrigues me on many levels.

Have you read any of these? I'd also recommend them:

The Time Travellers Wife
The Book Thief
Cloud Atlas

off the top of my head.

Oh. The Time Travellers Wife was profound. But - I can relate to it, in ways I suppose others may not be able too.

The other two I have not.

I have to confess, I haven't read a book in two months. The last one shook me hard.

I go through phases of reading. I spend most of my day working in front of a computer and the last thing I want to do at the end is focus on anything. I actually haven't read Cloud Atlas but it came highly recommended from my partner and we have very similar tastes in books.

I just finished reading the Book Thief recently after having it on my shelf for years. I was kicking myself for not reading it sooner.

Anyhoo, happy exploring!

Reading definitely comes in cycles. I can go through 5 a week, sometimes. Then nothing for months. Like now.

Interesting, a quote from The Book Thief came up. It looks good. It's on my list of things to pick up tomorrow when I run errands. I'm glad I decided to get that first. I, Lucifer will have to wait for an online order.

Again, thank you.
