Im fairly unsociable. Actually I lie, not unsociable - however its a bit of a mission to get me to come out (in the city, let alone Thornbury) but Saturday night I was led to a 'Party at a Mansion'.
Run by hippies. Hippies! I was overdressed because I was wearing shoes. Crazy I know. The mansion (it was - stone columns out the front, vaulted ceilings, proper theatre rooms, but not marble and polished and white like you'd expect) was fun. Strange mix of music and people (think 60's dreadlocks crossed with day glo and acid wash and Brad, Chad, Eva and I sitting on the couch with kittens and puppies) dancing and being a little strange.
And there was a tea ceremony (complete with bell rung intervals), a crack whore room, and one friggin toilet. I met a lovely girl names Sparky while queuing. After the warm beer had been drunk we left sort of 1.30amish?
Earlier that night I had met up with Eva at Lounge and caught up with a bunch of people I hadn't seen in ages (some of whom were working and gave me free top shelf gin!) and had fried kway chow (I forget how to spell it) which I hadnt had in forever and it was allll good. Watched Dexter at Evas, mixed the gin and beer in my system with some spahhklin' and then it was mansion ahoy.
One taxi ride and detour past the 7/11 we cruised back to my place at early o'clock and drink and drink and... Cocktails, massages, Lamb on the stereo, cigarettes on the balcony and hours of good conversation. It's been a while since Ive had a great night like that (and now I can officially say that Eva has been in my house without her top on - the joys of a 4am massage by Bradley). What was even better was while Chad crashed on the couch and me on my bed, Brad and Eva went to the market and cooked up a feast - haloumi, poached eggs, spinach, oven roasted tomatoes, homemade hollandaise, salmon, avocado and bloody marys. Seriously, a great end to a long night.
I dont remember what time everyone left all I know is I fell asleep and got two phone calls (mum and lindssssssay) which I was very groggy for. But hey, I got to spend the afternoon eating pizza and icecream and watch Golden Girls.
No no, thank*you* for being a friend.
I have almost finished a project at work and might leave an hour early to get some last minute things done before my bday and christmas.
Oh! anyone who is in Melbourne:
I am having bday drinks at Panama Dining Room (Lvl 3 / 231 Smith St Collingwood) this Friday the 21st (my *25th* birthday) from 9ish? Come one come all. (Though Im realising now the majority of people who read this are overseas or in Perth *shrugs*)
And now my pretties, I must work.
Love.
weekend fun!,
