Well, it's just about the end of August, with Labor Day Weekend approaching like an intrusive glacier. Come the first of the month, I will morph into a whirlwind of activity & emotion as my last 30 days on the continent begins. This will be my 3rd permanent move, something like my 9th instance of travelling for my job.
I'm excited and on the verge of anxious to get back on Japanese soil. I will miss my friends & the local community a lot while I am gone, as well as my car. :( However, I remember what a trip overseas means, and I am STOKED to get settled in and start this next assignment. I'm leaving my unit on good terms, and they won't be hurting for manpower as much as we feared, so there is little to no guilt that I basically told them "get me out of here!"
Some things I will be doing during September:
-Taking a Physical Fitness test around the 3rd week of the month.
-Retrieving my Medical/Dental records.
-Getting a ribbon I earned LAST summer into my records so I can have some extra tit-bling on my uniform when I arrive.
-Getting my cable/internet shut off around the 28th, and moving out of the apartment on October 1st.
There is a boatload of other things, but these are *sadly* the highlights of the month, at least until I get actual orders in my hands and a ticket across the Pacific. Keep you guys up to date, and don't be surprised if I drop of the radar between the end of September and mid-October due to being mobile.
The King of the Gypsies rides again!
