Well gang, I spent the last 9 days or so hosting my mom as she flew out here to visit me before I return to Japan in the fall. She's been here once before, back in late September, so this was her first Northwestern summer; the weather was AMAZING after the 4th passed.
We watched fireworks in Tacoma, visited the Museum of Glass & saw some artwork being created firsthand, climbed up Mt. Rainier about a 1/3 of the entire height & had a snow-ball fight in July, and some other small events in-between.
I was unable to get time off work, so I was accomplishing all of this between shifts at work. I was EXHAUSTED, and spent a lot of Saturday sleeping as a result. I love having family visit, but I also breathe a little easier after the trips are finished and life returns to normal.
Looking forward to these last few weeks as a Senior Airman, for I become a Staff Sergeant on August 1st. Doing some community service this week picking up trash & working a snack booth at the Air Show.
Life is winding down here for me in the USA, so I am getting things ready for the eventual move back to Tokyo. Plans have already been discussed about where I'll live/what I'll do when I return to Tacoma in a few years. ^_^
