Edgy Girl - Coming to a cinema near you.

Nov 21, 2008 23:23

This morning I had absolutely no hangover. Good work, liver! You're a champ!

More than one person on my friends page has expressed extreme butthurt over the posting of a certain Twilight spoiler by people who've seen the movie. The spoiler in question was a split-second shot of Chompsy McGee Stephenie Meyer. Split-second. She was an extra. Not quite the textbook definition of a spoiler. So ... Sorry if I ruined it. I wasn't trying to be edgy. Getting drunk and bombarding a Twilight premiere was me trying to be edgy. Suggesting that the butthurt in question should cry moar is me trying to be edgy. Saying that SMeyer was an extra isn't me trying to be edgy, so cry moar or something. Sweet, sweet, assholing edge right there.

The film was true to the book 110%, and I will never complain about HP not being true-to-book ever again. Everything was expected, and I'd have been confused as backwards pants if I hadn't read the book beforehand. Anything spoilery wouldn't really be a spoiler to anyone who's read the books.

The trailers weren't shown, which was really lousy, as there was supposed to be a HP trailer. I wanted to see it all big and stuff. There were also a lot of crappy T-shirts, girls with TEAM EDWARD flags, and the screaming began before the movie even started. Anne and I got loaded at O'Shea's pub a block away. We spent a lot of time there PICTOCHATTING on our mighty Nintendo DS's. Then we went outside and attempted to smoke broken cigars before saying to hell with it and hitting the cinema. I had pizza and Anne had popcorn.

Seriously, I don't have a lot to say about it. It was epic, it was fun, it was headache-inducing, and the movie couldn't be enjoyed anyway as people were SCREAMING LIKE BANSHEES through the WHOLE DAMN THING. I know it was a movie premiere, but nobody ever screamed at Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. I don't think anybody even noticed how drunk we were. They were all BATSHIT, NUTFUCKING INSANE. I already have two more Drunken Twilight dates pending ('sup, your_downfall & teacherlady), so hopefully I'll be able to actually watch the movie at some point. It was like the Porn-Gobbling Snarry Shippers at the OotP screening in Toronto all over again. SCREAMING AND SCREAMING AND OH MY GOD SHUT UP AND WATCH THE MOVIE, YOU RIDICULOUS FUCKS.

I'm waiting for eatmyphotons to upload photos so I can go into badass detail about the night. As for my final thoughts, those are them right there until I can watch the movie without the distraction of insane Twitwats.

EDIT: No, really, I am sorry if I spoiled anybody, but what I said about it was far from being spoilery. It's not as though I revealed some deep plot point. Good grief.
