Hiding

Thursday 29 March … what a crazy morning at work.  I had the afternoon off and an appointment with Sweetheart to get my hair done.  We changed it a bit from the normal - still a deep brown red, but I got caramel foils in it as well.  It looked awesome.  On the drive up the mountain to the salon, I saw Oli’s car on the side of the road just before the Buderim hill - he must have broken down because it was still there when I went home.  I later found out that he’d blown a tyre.  “Didn’t you have a spare?”  “The spare was already on the car.”  LOL.

While I was getting my hair done, Sweetheart and I had a good chat about random things.  She mentioned that 20 October was the wedding date she had suggested to Drummer Man - because the Ukrainian Hall in Brisbane is free.  They were planning a beach wedding on the Thursday night beforehand for the close family and whoever else wanted to go, then the Saturday night at the Ukranian Hall.  I hid any kind of reaction and acted very supportive.  She talked about their budgets and money issues and whether or not to sell his house, what the repercussions are of her falling pregnant (because that’s the plan for next year).  It was hard, but I think I was convincing enough.  We also talked about and my lessons, but not much, I didn’t want to say anything bad about them because there’s not that much bad to say.  It seemed she was fishing for bad things though.

We also discussed hair straighteners and she said that ghds aren’t that great and the Wahls (like the one she got for me) are just as good.  I went along with her, not mentioning I got the ghd and it’s a million times better for my hair lol.

I’d missed a few calls from Product Boy while I was with Sweetheart, so I called him back.  I think he was in Sydney trying to figure out how to get home.  He said he was worried about me lately because I didn’t seem happy.  How could I be?  I was fighting majorly with Frank, Drummer Man was getting married … I didn’t exactly feel like being a bundle of joy lol.  But I was trying.

That night was the Italian Australian Film Festival (IAFF) trade fair at the Ramada in Pelican Waters - the main reason why I got my hair done.  I wore my new red cocktail dress and it was a good night, interesting.  I had a really good espresso at quarter to 12 … not the ideal time to be having coffee lol.  So after the function, I drove around aimlessly for an hour before going home.  I drove up to Buderim and saw that Oli’s car was still on the side of the road.
