After more than a month, seven phone calls, a desperate attempt at twitter and an email that resulted in a bullshit non-response, I sent a very angry email to Virgin Mobile consisting mostly of the contents of my last post on the issue and they have finally put my money back where it belongs! Victory!
I got two emails, one specifically about the refund and one from customer service.

Yeah, ya damn well better figure out what you messed up. I can't guarantee that I'll stick around if this happens again. In the depths of my despair, I was looking at other phone services and ran across a site with cell phone service ratings. It looks like I'm not the only one with serious issues with their customer service. A lot of people have trouble with the dropped calls and other crap.
Unlike them, I've had excellent service otherwise. It might have taken them for-fucking-ever to get their heads out of their asses but they did, so I'll stay with them for now. Which is good because I think the endless repeating of my phone number has finally made me memorize it, which I hadn't done before, so changing now would be a pain XD
Anyway, I don't know why I'm awake right now, but I am.
