“Love is patient; love is kind
and envies no one.
Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
never selfish, not quick to take offense.
There is nothing love cannot face;
there is no limit to its faith,
its hope, and endurance.
In a word, there are three things
that last forever: faith, hope, and love;
but the greatest of them all is love.”

1 Corinthians 13:4

Patient and kind,
Without envy,
boast, conceit, or rudeness,
it conquers all.

It is above all.

But apparently not for two of the same.

They can be ordered to serve,
but their voluntary services are unwelcome.
Indeed, don't ask if they are being given
Don't tell if you are giving them.

Equal rights for all!
Unless they love another like them.

"Let us be wed!"
"But the sanctity of marriage!"
"There is sanctity there still?"

"Let us adopt and raise children!"
"They'll be just like you!"
"By what logic?"

It should be shared:
- beyond borders
- beyond colors
- beyond gender
- beyond creed.

Instead it is hidden,
lost in a maze,
buried under shells.

It is twisted,
tortured, bent,
broken, wandering,
uneven, off-kilter,
but unlike these words
never forced.
