*bleah*
Called in sick to work yesterday. I had a nasty sore throat and a fever and at my work place you are not allowed to come into work with a fever due to contagion issues. So that will be 12 hours less off my next paycheck, right in time for Christmas. On the bright side though I spent the whole day in bed shivering under the covers so I would not have been able to work and so the fact that I had to stay home at least made me not feel in fear of losing my job, or spend the time in too much guilt over not being at work.
I still fell prey to a little guilt, but that is kind of a default for me when I am not feeling well. I feel tired today, my throat is still sore but I do not have a fever, so I will be trying to work a 12 hour shift tomorrow. I would not be so worried about it except that Monday is the one day a week that I work with the coworker who gave me such grief last week. I am not looking forward to dealing with her again, while trying to do a demanding job, while also being sick. Ugh break out the tiny violin and play me a sympathy tune, heh. ;)
Hopefully, the day will go well and I will continue to feel better. After tomorrow I have at least the next two days off to recover and will be working with the team I like the most the next three days that I work.
I did get a nice surprise today, my parents brought over an early Christmas gift from my aunt for our whole family. It is a 27 inch flat screen TV. We had only had a little 13 inch for awhile since our 19 inch quit working.
I am currently watching Leslie Howard prance about the nice sized screen as the Scarlet Pimpernel.
" Well, sink me, if this is not quite a nice present!" LOL!
I think that certain men in my life would look rather nice dressed as the Scarlet Pimpernel. Big fluffy cravats and lacey sleeves. MMMMM sexy!
