Holy shit, I'm going to Burning Man.
Let me repeat: HOLY SHIT, I'M GOING TO BURNING MAN!
Though I've whined and complained and talked about it constantly for the last two months, I still didn't expect it to happen. Last night I was on Facebook and my friend Tasia suddenly says, "Hey, I'm going to pick up some extra dancing shifts just for the hell of it. I'll give you the money for the tickets. Could you go then?" My answer? YES! YES I CAN! Andru and I had just been discussing how if I could have the cost of the ticket covered, I could go. And then it happened. I now have a week and a half to get ready for something people spend six months planning for. I'M FREAKING OUT. I'll be camping with Tasia and her crew, so at least I'll have people there, but I won't have my regular festival crew which is making me even more nervous.
Breathe. I can do this. It's going to be amazing and awful and wonderful and any other adjective I can think of. Breathe. This is going to happen.
So far all my friends have really stepped up, especially those who have already been to a burn. Randi is providing goggles and costume-y stuff, Cami is helping hook me up with a ride, Daniel and Anna are letting me go thru their stuff for anything useful, including a tent. Still got to figure out the shoe situation and decide about a bike. My ride situation will probably make the bike decision for me, but for now I'm saying no to bringing one, even a beater one. I will probably later regret this.
