Ruby returned his glare effortlessly. He obviously meant, “Will you screw or will you play demon?”
“Which answer would be more to your liking?” she asked cryptically.
“None” he admitted.
“Then why ask?” she replied crooking her eyebrow at him.
I can totally see Ruby and Dean having a conversation like this!!!!
No matter the cost?” he asked hopefully.
“Sometimes the cost is too high. You have to remember who you are and what you stand for. How much you are willing to sacrifice” she uttered, still as colorless as ever.
Poor Dean... he wants her to tell him that it's ok that he caved! :(

This totally explains why Dean WOULD OPEN UP TO RUBY!!
She is the only one who would understand...she is a demon!
In Dean's eyes she represents/symbolizes everything demonic... Sorta...
But having Sam trust her is almost comforting because if Sam trusts a demon, then he wouldn't lose trust and faith in Dean himself either...since he is better than a demon - despite everything he has done.
Have you any idea how many unthinkable acts you have to commit to prove yourself?”
“Kill?” she scoffed. “How many do you have in mind, Dean? Five? A Dozen? A hundred?”
He nodded.
“How about GENOCIDE, Dean? How does that sound? How about the bloody Apocalypse? And I stress bloody!”
That was bloody chilling.....
“Of all the people you tortured in Hell, I was the only one you actually enjoyed hurting, wasn't I?”
“Yes” he answered.
”Because it felt like I was doing it to myself, like I was finally getting what I deserved” he thought.

Dean enjoying hurting Ruby makes total sense, at least in this context!!!

If remembering how it feels to be a human made Ruby "softer", does that mean that Dean remembering how it feels to be a demon makes him "harder", "rough"?

I think we could use some Dean/Ruby moments, not as a pairing but as an understanding of the characters...

YEs Jensen is such a great actor.. we have seen him act all kinds of situations from dramatic to comedy, to tear-jerkers to light ones!!

I think that he is just too reckless now because he is blinded by his need to be redeemed so he tries to save everyone at the expense of his own wellbeing... not that he ever did hold it dear! lol
