Figured I should do my OC next... since only Yuuo and Erato know her... incomplete. I always start these things late at night. Mainly posted so I can work from work.

Player: Stareyes
Character's Real Name: Alriai Aborin
Alias: n/a
Former Aliases: n/a
Nicknames: Alri
Former Nicknames: n/a
Race: Alien (Darynese) Currently part sprite (think low level elemental)
Sex: Female
Approximate Age: 22
Natural Dimension: Phoenix Dawn
Hair: Mostly brown, but a forelock is black.
Eyes: Midnight Blue
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 135 lbs.
Skin color: Pale ivory, with a purplish tinge. Would be very dark in the ultraviolet.
Physical Description: Alri is a young woman of a moderate build. She has long hair, usually kept pinned up in a bun in the back of her head. She tends to dress a bit on the old fashioned side, favoring skirts and dresses when practical. She has no objection to dressign in pants when appropriate, though.
Distinguishing Features: Alri has purple blood. She also has a choker she wears near-constantly, a gift from her parents. Finally, she has slightly pointed ears.
Strength Level: About as much as a woman who keeps herself in good shape would be. Alri just came back from a mission that required a lot of physical exertion on her part, so she is probably quite strong, but she is still only a short/average sized woman.
Marital status: Single.
Occupation: (current) n/a (former) pilot. hobbyist fencer
Base of Operations: n/a
Special Equipment: Alri does have a saber used for fencing, a leather vest she picked up as armor, and a personal computer.
Group Affiliations: n/a
Known Relatives: Parents (unnamed)
Allies: None
Enemies: n/a
Known Superhuman Powers: Alri has had her powers for less than a month, so she has very little knowledge or control of them. She has the ability to control water -- probably up to a bathtub-full. She can also produce a magic-blocking force field and materialize a set of butterfly-like wings for flight. She has a small amount of healing abilities -- about enough to heal minor scrapes.
As for racial abilities, Alri has decent night vision, a keen sense of smell, and a near-immunity to sunburn, UV and (normal) high temperatures. She also has a high alcohol tolerence -- over five times a human's.
Learned/Special Skills: Alri is a fair pilot, and picked up some accounting skills from her parents. She's a decent hobbyist fencer, and was forced to put the skill to good use recently. However, given the number of swordsmen in the group, she is nothing special. She's read a lot -- mostly fantasy fiction books. Her main asset is she is one of the few charcaters familiar with advanced technology.
Weaknesses: Well, Alri has a racial intolerance to cold and is affected funny by caffine -- it acts like alcohol would. She also registers as a magic being, so can be confined by devices designed to trap such creatures. She cannot eat red meat -- that level of iron would kill her. She also has to take daily vitamins to survive on human food -- she carrys a large supply with her, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Personality: Alri seems like a refined and polite person. This is mostly true. She takes pride in appearing presentable, and sees manners as an asset. However, she is not opposed to letting her hair down among friends. This can sometimes make her seem like a hypocrit, as she mighg denouce a behavior in public only to do it in private. She is trying to keep herself from doing this, though. Alri has had a lot happen to her recently, so she is still trying to sort it out. This means she is unusually prone to introspection. Alri is a romantic, but she has become much more realistic about it -- she realizes that sometimes things don't work out like they do in her books. She's not sure if it's somethign worht oping for, or if just trying to get by is the best course.
Alri has a jealous streak, and if she isn't careful, it will turn nasty. She usually watches herself, but should she ever enter into competition with someone, she will get insulting and catty. She does realize she does this, and if she catches herself, she will appologize and avoid directly insulting someone.
Other: n/a
History:
Pregame: (Many spoilers for my comic here.)
Alri grew up the daughter of two merchant spacers, menaing she spent most of her time in space and around machinery. This probably influenced her decision to become a pilot. it also explains why she is unusually humanlike in thought and action -- she grew up reading, and since the Darynese are not known for great works of fiction, she read mostly Human novels.
Alri did keep up with news from her home planet, particularly when Rikayo "Riki" Darenka, a boy her age, proved to be the first Darynese to exhibit psionics. Being about age 12 at the time, she exhibited the normal responce of someone who read a lot of fantasy novels. 1) she asked that she be tested for psionics herself and 2) she developed quite the fantasy crush. Alri turned out to be completely normal with respect to psionics and she let the fantasy crush sink into obscurity.
Alri got her piloting liscence as soon as she was old enough -- not unusual for a child raised in space. She joined the Sta by Star Exploration Program, a non-profit exploration company, at age 21, and happeened to be assigned to the Ankaa a small exploration vessel. It happened that Riki was the ship's engineer. Alri's crush reared it's ugly head again, and she started displaying jealousy to her fellow crewmate and Riki's best friend, Melody.
Through various mishaps, the ship ended up in another world, where magic exists instead of psionics and once again Alri is left out in the cold with regrard to the paranormal. The crew gets roped into saving the world, as is standard for fantasy plots. Right before the Big Climatic Battle, Alri is critically wounded, and Kai, a local water sprite (think low-level elemental) they picked up, tries to heal her. Being a creature of pure magic, he does that mostly by just pouring life energy into her. This does the trick, but Kai uses up the energy he needs to stay coporeal and he passes on. It also has the unintended side effect of giving Alri some of Kai's magical abilities and a few of his physical traits (noteably the pointed ears and the wings, which, thankfully, she can make disappear at will).
The group managed to return home, and Alri separated from the rest of her crewmates. She is taken shortly after that.
