Summary: Post 7.13. This is how Callie and Arizona get along, and it's not all sunshine and butterflies.
A/N: These drabbles aren't necessarily in any kind of chronological order, nor are they all written in the same tense or in the same style. I'm not sure how many drabbles I'll end up writing for this; this is just a writing playground and a warm-up for some longer fics. It's been a long time since I've done any creative writing!

Drabble #1 - "The Star Pupil"

Arizona Robbins has learned to bite her tongue. She’s learned to plaster on a smile when Mark lets himself into her and Callie’s apartment, unannounced as ever and at all hours of the day. She’s learned to focus on arranging chicken on dinner plates while Mark gives her girlfriend a foot massage. She’s learned to cheerily agree to after dinner drinks so that Mark can lament over Lexie as Callie occasionally rubs his shoulder in commiseration. And honestly, Arizona does feel a little bad for the guy, but…

But sooner or later, her tongue is going to start to bleed.

Drabble # 2 - “Feel it All”

Calliope Torres was numb.

It wasn’t for lack of emotion. No-she felt it all, and felt it all too much. But she felt in contradictions and this had exhausted her to the point of a certain manageable detachment.

She was thrilled yet fearful, both content and uneasy. She felt herself pulling her life together even as it spun relentlessly apart. And as she watched her girlfriend-whose dimples flashed with an almost militant determination by day-cry when she thought Callie was asleep at night, Calliope Torres wondered if numb was what it felt like to be Arizona Robbins.

Drabble #3 - "I love you, and you love me."

Callie likes Arizona’s forceful certainty, but the fact that the declarations of love are decidedly one-sided is not lost on her, and she doesn’t think it’s lost on Arizona either.

So when the still-damp skin of the blonde’s back is pressed against Callie’s bare chest, she knows that she’s supposed to say it, that the heart she feels beating beneath the palm of her hand isn’t just racing from recent exertion. But it is sinking somewhere in an ocean that persists in separating them-one full of conversations they haven’t had, and Callie isn’t sure she knows how to cross.
