I had a much longer post thought up for these, but I've been putting it off so long, the movies are starting to pile up. So here's the short version.
Poseidon: Excellent disaster flick. Rent it though--only movieophiles should see this in the theatre. Not nearly as bad as the reviews made it sound.
Mission Impossible 3: Good. It's mindless, nonstop action. What more were you expecting? Stupid fucks in the review columns call it a 'rehash of all of Cruise's previous films' because of one very short scene where he is riding on a motorcycle at sunrise, a la Top Gun.
The DaVinci Code: I recently told Adam that 'depression is seeing a 'Git-R-Done' sticker across the top of a sports car's windshield'. Depression is also hearing three different college jocks drawl to their slutty-looking girlfriends the following, in succession: 'It was too complicated' 'I guess you had to read the book to understand it' and 'That was stupid' as you exit the theatre after watching this film. A good movie to rent, if you can forgive them beating you over the head with rather obvious plot twists, especially at the end. I caught the 10:30/1:10 showing of this, and that always makes a movie more fun to watch.
Onmyoji II: I was flipping through the online TV Guide that came with our digital cable, and I thought this was an anime from the listing. It's actually a recent live-action movie from Japan with only subtitles (whereas the first movie, which I haven't seen yet, has dubbed voices). It was surprisingly good with excellently developed characters. I think I liked this movie better because I didn't see the first one, so I didn't know a very important fact about the main characters.
Cube Zero: Meh, it was a good late night flick. I remember vaguely being impressed by 1997's Cube, and this is the third movie in the series. Not too bad at all. I'm only adding this because it just ended as I was writing this.
