Yeah, that pretty much explains it.
I don't know why I haven't posted to this thing in like 2 months.
I'm just a sporadic poster, I guess. Deal with it.
Sooo....lots of my fave bands are experiencing some kind of turmoil...The Watchmen, IME, Clarknova.
Clarknova are the only ones that have officially broken up. IME have denied it, and The Watchmen haven't denied it or confirmed it, which makes me think the end is probably near for them.
As I posted on their website, this is what they've meant to me:
A TOAST:
As a longtime Watchmen fan, I feel that I owe you guys an honest description of what your music has and continues to mean to me.
You are the ONLY band that has ever brought me to tears during a show.
Tears of joy filling me, tears of anguish flowing out of me, your thought-provokingly honest lyrics and melodies flying off the stage and filling my headspace, somehow reassuring me that I'm not alone in my mindset and feelings on this earth.
Your music to me has always been unaffected. Even on Slomotion when the effects were in play, the gut feelings shone through.
It's often been said that great bands play from the heart. You play from the soul.
If something negative was going on in my life at the time, and I had the distinct pleasure of attending a Watchmen show, it all disappeared for an evening.
And said evenings always amplified the good times.
I raise a glass in your honor.
Here's to many great years, and many more to come.
