today rocked.
So with all my excitement over Death Cab next week, I completely forgot about Saves the Day playing tonight. Oh well.
Today I went to Furniture Market with a couple other ladies from work. We had sooooo much fun. I guess if you're not into furniture or fabric then it's hard to understand how seeing hundreds of furniture companies in one place is exciting. Well, it is. Of course, we went to the Bassett showroom first. We don't have a huge amount of new things coming out, but what we saw was really fucking cool. I will now list all the awesome things:
1. A leather ottoman that has a twin sleeper inside...seriously one of the neatest pieces of furniture ever.
2. A huge sofa with an option of under-cushion storage and/or a blow up queen sleeper mattress.
3. A trundle bed that pops up to normal bed height when you pull it out.
4. A new contemporary line (including a bookcase that consists of cubes you can rotate). The sofa has a ton of really cool sectional options (ex: leaving one end armless & adding a half-circle ottoman to the end for extra seating)
5. Updates to our casual dining line: leather side chairs, more contemporary legs and table tops, better finish choices, better fabric choices, optional padded seat backs (which are removable!)
6. 350 new fabrics!!! They've added "Indurance" fabrics to replace the microfibers. These will be tough fabrics, stain-resistant and all that jazz, but these will actually come in a wide variety of colors and have actual patterns! Plus, the new fabrics have some great contemporary patterns.
Needless to say, I'm a bit excited about getting all this stuff in the next few months. Plus, it will be coming in right around the time that I'll be able to start getting my employee discount (cost + 5% shipping costs!)
Oh, and it wasn't all about Bassett today. After we left there, we went to Uttermost (one of Bassett's main accessory suppliers.) One of the ladies I went with has a personal account with them, which means we can buy things at true wholesale cost. I got two matching paintings & a set of three leather trays. They should be delivered in a month or so. I can't wait. We wandered around some more, and I fell in love with this ultra-modern lighting company. Their stuff was just insane. I wish I could go back & spend some more time wandering around....
