It surprises me YET MAKES ME HAPPY that people still watch btvs and ats to this day. Like it was on just so long ago now it feels.
But tumblr is notorious for wank and ship wars.

She has all this ethereal fragile beauty one moment, and then is as strong and tough as steel the next, and she EMOTES without having to go all Bad Actor and pull faces about it!

Kaylee/Simon grosses me out, yo. Like he's a dick so much of the time, and she's just OBSEESSSSEDDDD with him... but not even because she thinks he's a good kind loving funny intelligent person (she'd be totes wrong for thinking those things tbf). She thinks he's HOT. And is in lust.
And it doesn't sit well, because like you say... unequal interest there.

It was a surprise to me as well that there were Jaybe/River shippers. That makes absolutely no sense. I wouldn't even ship River with anyone. Oh and there's Mal/River shippers as well. I just don't get it. I think people just put hot people together and call it a ship, but that's not how it works in my book.
I am le surprised that you think Jayne/Kayle are cute. NO ONE I know thinks they're cute. No one even acknowledges it. WOw. WOW. I think I love you. And SO much THIS to what you said about Kaylee. She was just obsessed with his hotness. Simon was a dickhead to her the entire time, with tiny, fleeting moments of kindness, though they were always laced with an undercurrent of condescension, so no way in hell am I gonna ship someone with him. Just ain't gonna happen.

AND YES I'VE SEEN X FILES. Not watched it for ages though as it's never much on telly anymore here, apart from digital channels have re-runs sometimes but I watch most of my tv on my laptop.
I do like it!! I love the dynamic between Dana and Fox and how it NEVER feels forced to me, and never feels like "oh male lead, female lead, let's chuck in romantic sexual tension all the time" like every single show does nowadays.
It's just this great slow burn.

Plus the stories are scary as shit. OR THEY WERE WHEN I WATCHED IT AND WAS LIKE 13, HA.

Alright, you are officially cool in my book. LOL it doesn't take much. :P But, agreed. Everything after XF is always trying to force the male and female co-leads to get it on and it'll never happen or ever be as flawless as it was with XF. CC never even intended them to be together, so if anything shows should be doing that. LOL.
Oh and can I just say that some of the episodes still scare the crap out of me. I ain't gonna lie. When XF is good, it's damn good.

I love that Jayne really looks up to Kaylee... or at least that's how I always thought of it. She was like a smarter cooler little sister for him, who he pretty much adored.
It's crazy to say ANYONE is less mature than Jayne, but Kaylee was probably the most innocent and immature character on the show.
Not in a bad way... she'd just been sheltered growing up and that was her personality.

But instead of condascending to her and treating her like a stupid little backwater dirt planet girl LIKE SIMON DID, Jayne had some respect about him.

ALEX KINGSTON WAS SO SEXY IN ER!!! LIZZY/ROMANO FOREVER. I cried hard when he was crushed by a helicopter :(

AND YESSSS I'VE SEEN FARSCAPE.
I used to be mad obsessed with Scorpy/Sikozu, not gonna lie.
And Claudia Black is fierce, fresh, flawless perfection.

Ohhh I see what you're talking about with Jayne seeing Kayle as a cool little sister. I can see that a lot. OMG, I may need to rewatch Firefly to re-interpret my feelings on Jayne/Kaylee now that you've said that. Hmm.

OMG. Ok, so Lizzy/Romano was kind of like my guilty ship on that show, that I never told anyone about it. Damn, did I love them and their interactions. It was so cruel of him to be crushed by the helicopter. Just so wrong. :( I felt really bad for him.

Ohhh Scorpy/Sikozu is a good ship to be obsessed about. They were so...idk, naughty! I did heart that about them. And Sikozu's hair was so freaking epic in PKW. One day, I shall have hair like that.
Agreed about Claudia Black. She needs to be on tv more also. Too talented, and her voice is far too sexy too.
