Warm Up America

Jan 24, 2008 10:30

Currently, the temperature in New York City is 32 degrees. California is seeing temps in the 40's. The mid-west is dipping into the negatives.

It would be great if everyone had a warm place to go during these cold winter months, but the reality is that many Americans spend these days fighting off the chill.

Warm Up America is a project that makes blankets that go to places like shelters, churches and hospitals that distribute them to people who need them most.

The blankets are made up of 7"x10" knitted or crocheted squared, and you can help out by making one square or one whole blanket. They also accept donations of supplies and money.

More information, including patterns, are available on their website: http://www.warmupamerica.com
