Homefront Needs Formal Dresses

Homefront is a great organization, based in Mercer County, NJ, that provides resources to homeless and recently-homeless families that help them get on their feet and create a stable foundation for the rest of their lives.

From their website:

"HomeFront is gearing up for a BIG celebration honoring over 100 formerly homeless parents, most of them mothers, as they celebrate their successful return to independence. After many months of learning the skills and acquiring the tools that will enable them to provide their children with a safe, secure and permanent home, they will be the guests of honor at a special formal evening in their honor.

"These parents have worked hard to overcome a lot of adversity in their lives, and we would like to reward their efforts by hosting a formal dinner and awards ceremony at our Family Preservation Center on Friday, February 29," says HomeFront Case Manager Ernest Stafford.

"Last year we decided that formal attire would make the evening even more special, and it really was a magical event. Of course, none of the women owned a formal dress (nor men a tuxedo), but our wonderfully caring community solved the problem by donating evening dresses."

"Sizes 14-24 are especially needed, but all sizes are welcome. Dresses may be dropped off at HomeFront at 1880 Princeton Avenue in Lawrenceville, at HomeFront's FreeStore at 1000 Division Street in Trenton (bring to back double doors) or at the Family Preservation Center, 310 Sullivan's Way in West Trenton. Deadline is February 18, 2008."
