My Birthday
Thanks everyone for the birthday greetings. It was very hot here, so we decided not to spend the day visiting an island in Oslofjord close to the city (with a water-bus to get there). We instead had our main meal at lunch time, so we could have a small picnic at supper time, while on a walk in the forest. Our flat mostly faces west, and these days it starts getting extremely hot in the late afternoon, so we relaxed at home until then, and then got ready to go out. We took a bus up into the forest a bit, and walked up in the shade of the trees. It was still hot, but the forest is always a little cooler than the city. We stopped for our picnic at a hut where there is a canteen open earlier in the day, and there are lots of picnic tables, which will have been packed full earlier in the day, but which were mostly empty around 7 to 8 in the evening. While there the sun started getting low, and our walk back was much cooler. Now we are back in our hot flat, with the windows wide open to let the cool night air in.
