We don't want to make the same mistake we made with the beaver!

So I tripped over this photo the other day while searching for space uniform references (don't ask) and for a millisecond, I was all "Yay! Evil Sylar is awesome again!" and then I saw the blue shirt and the ears and I was very depressed. Seriously, I've never seen a show commit suicide before. I mean, even Lost at its worst was never as bad as the ( Read more... )

See, I've never been a committed Star Trek fan, so I'm fairly neutral on the subject. I'll wait until I hear some reviews (from friends, mostly . . . professional movie reviewers kind of drive me crazy), and if it sounds decent, then I'll definitely give it a go. Like I said in a post looooong ago, seeing Shaun, Harold, Eomer and Sylar in a room together makes my head want to explode in a number of delightful ways.

I wish I could tell you the last three eps of Heroes have been awesome, but it's really been more of the same (with the exception of seeing HRG a bit more. I think he's the only reason why I'm still watching the show). What's especially cruel is sometimes the show briefly taunts you with the promise of something good, but then it sinks back into the confusing, terrible mess it's been all season. What gets fully ensconced in my craw the most is that the characters I really liked (Suresh & Parkman, to name but two) have THE worst storylines. And everyone's all "They suck now! Kill them off!" and I'm all "NO! They're actually awesome characters who are now being written horrendously!" Oh man, I could go on and on (and on and on and on), but all I'll say (ask) is this: have the writers this season been combing the internet for awful fan fiction and turning it into shooting scripts? Because that's the only explanation I can find for all these bizarre character turns, not to mention the "awhuh?!?" plots. Plotz is more like it.

And yes. After that episode, everyone was all, "The Fly! The Fly!". Except for those born after 1990, who were all, "Spiderman! Spiderman!"
