So, last night's fade tour final & After Party was way more fun that I expected it being, and though I'm pretty shit with reports...
I had a great view of the stage, having managed to sweet-talk a few guest passes with a little help. It's nice not having to see over heads or battle for spots. Before the show, there was an announcement about an FC trip to Hawaii and that the international FC will open in January.
I gotta say though, the best part of the show was the hilarious drunk older gentleman who was beside us in the guest area, who splashed his beer over the women below and kept shouting at the band, saying their encores were "残業" (overtime work). He claimed to be Kansei's father but when I mentioned him to Jon later, he laughed and said the guy was just a friend of his.... who knows.
The band sounded great, Jon worked the crowd as marvelously as he always does and the set-list.... can probably be found as other sources.... ^^;>
The after party was at a restaurant close to the venue. The staff hadcleared out all the tables and when the guys arrived, they divided their time talking to fans, taking photos and being sheep-herded around by their manager, who was making sure they didn't stay with one group for too long (kinda cute).
Jon came up to me and said hi, pulled my ponytail at one point, and chewed me out for not singing enough during the gig... I hadn't even realized he was looking over at me, whoops. I sang! ....Occasionally.
To me, it's fun watching the guys interact with the Japanese fans cause they really do treat them like rock stars. But, the members of fade are so easy to talk to that it just feels like you're catching up with friends.
Saw Rui and talked to him for a bit, nodded hello to Noriyuki (with whom I've somehow still never managed to have a conversation) and said Hi to Godo.
I saw Kansei next, who claimed to need hard liquor before he could start properly using English, so I pointed him to the bar. When I caught him the next time, I had decided I wanted to have a little more fun with the members so I asked him to sign my leg.
He seemed really excited about it, and after we got a photo together, I gave his kiss a cheek as thanks (because he's a cute little hamster) and he decided it was a good time to say, "I love you!" I laughed and told him the same and he went, "Really, I love you!"
Rui was so close by so I pulled his attention away from the Japanese fans and asked him if he would sign me too.
He then gave me the suggestion of getting my ass signed... so I found Jon.
"Hey, will you sign my ass?"
I really enjoyed the smile on his face when he said, "I will TOTALLY sign your ass!"
Not only that, but Jon called over the cameras while I bent over for him and balanced himself by putting his other hand on the opposite cheek.
The Japanese fans all hooted and cheered. I thanked him afterwards, to which he replied, "No, thank YOU."
I personally don't really care for autographs, but my aim was to make things a little more fun for everyone and I can proudly state I achieved that. I wanted Noriyuki to get my neck and Godo to sign my back, but they started the acoustic set soon after so I never got the chance. They placed three songs, Always&Forever, Ten, and then Face (with Rui on guitar).
There was a big group shot after the set, but I nipped off to the "powder room" while they were setting up and stood off to the side so as not to come running in to disturb the scene in the middle of the photos. Which worked well until Noriyuki spotted me and stopped the cameraman to beckon me over (so much for not disturbing the scene).
After the shoot, the band left, and after talking to some of the Japanese fans and getting some last photos, I departed too.
Getting back home, I heard
amaia's hilarious
post-live encounter with Jon and could safely conclude... it had been one hell of a fun night.
