When she opened the door of the confessional, there was still nothing but silence from the other compartment. Catherine wasn't a particularly religious person, but going to church was what was expected of her, so she had always complied. Telling all kinds of nonsense whilst she was making her confession was just her way of having fun.
Most of the things that she had told the priest had been complete lies. What she had told the priest about the threesome that she had had with Allan and Sir James afterwards, how Robin Hood had come to her chambers and had seduced her and what had happened the time that Robin's adversary, Sir Guy of Gisborne, had tied her up and whipped her in an attempt to get information from her (which had naturally ended in another particularly steamy night), all of that was ,sadly, untrue. The only thing that had been true was what had happened when she and Allan had gone out riding, but that had happened half a year ago.
But the priest didn't know that.
It was sunny when she stepped outside. She shielded her eyes briefly and tilted her head upwards. Finally, some sunshine. Maybe it will actually last this time. When she lowered her hand, she spotted a familiar face in the crowd...
