My homecoming wasn't as pleasant as expected.
We were nearly pummeled by the Sheriff's men for helping Allan - he is a fool, and a liar... But he does not deserve to hang. But, more on that, later - then the carpenter very nearly ran me through for his daughter's flirtations on my person, which, obviously, resulted in us running for our lives for the second time in an afternoon.
Somehow, I expected our arrival in Locksley to be better, but it was indeed worse. Poor Dan, having his hand cut off for his boys' thievery... Noble, but a ridiculous price to pay for a pittance.
Gisborne and his Sheriff gave me the loveliest of welcomes, really. That ankle-biting spaniel ought to know better than to think he can traipse around my manor like he owns it. Which he technically does, but.
Much and I attended Council the following morning, and very nearly got ourselves thrown out. None of those rich fools care about the people of Nottingham, they care only to line their pockets with every last penny the peasants possess. I politely expressed my opinion that they ought to abolish taxes, but was I listened to? No. Of course not.
Oh, and then the Sheriff had the audacity to declare that I was to announce the hangings of both of Dan's boys and Allan. Thank you, Sheriff, for giving me the honour.
In the end? I did my duty as Duke of Huntingdon and read their sentences, with the very lovely threat of Much cracking his thick skull open hanging (literally) over my head. It... erm. That little debacle went over well, though I have to say I've got superb aim, hah.
Needless to say, Gisborne is a bastard and ran Scarlett's boys, Allan, Much, and myself out of town.
We're hi-- actually, no wait, no. Others can read this, can't they?
Sorry, Gisborne~ I'm not about to tell you where I am. You'll have to figure that out, yourself~!
