Considering trends within the Japanese government, I expect that someone will attempt to have all Duel Spirit related beings be deported, imprisoned, or mass slaughtered.

On the other hand, I expect this trend to recede once the cities start burning or turning into hell pits.

I doubt it. They'd have to be pretty stupid, and arrogant, to try.

...

It's pretty bad when I'm playing Humanity's Advocate, but I think we've passed the stage of idiotic and rash backlash decisions.

Those tend to be made in the heat of the moment. Fact is that spirits are here, and they're likely here to stay. Humans, by and large, are like ants against anteaters compared to spirits. They might win, but it'd cost them nearly everything to do so.

Doesn't help some of the websites I see and I do expect the politicians to try something.

There are stupid people out there who try to get everyone to conform to their world view. They're better off ignored. Or shot, when dangerous.

Sadly, doesn't seem to work with governments.

I think you give them too little credit. There's plenty of proof that spirits can easily cause more damage than humans can handle. It'd be like all of them agreeing to poke a beehive with a meter stick.

Either way, though, I'm glad that I technically live in my own country.

I'm thankful I can just leave to two countries without much concern.

Home and here, I assume?

But yes, being able to get away from things like that is a definite plus.
