Since I wrote anything on here. Guess my brain's been going in a lot of different directions with the whole out of work thing.
I've been home for 2 months, and I'm starting to feel a little bit itchy. I think it's time to put the finishing touches on the resume and start seeing what's out there. I've had a couple recruiting agencies call me in the last couple of weeks, expressing interest in getting my resume and interviewing, so probably a good idea to jump while there's interest, ha ha.
But, I'll admit - I've kind of enjoyed having the downtime. To a certain extent, it was needed. When I walked out of my former office for the last time, my head was just not in a good place - at least in trying to sell myself to someone as a star employee. But, I've gotten to spend some time with my kids that I just haven't had lately, and before I know it, those opportunities will be gone. The oldest is 22, finishing up school, and in love with a great guy - they're talking about getting a place together. The youngest is 15, and is definitely going places in her life. Straight-A student in the international baccalaureate program at her school, and is already being recruited by colleges. Of all things, she wants to be an aeronautical engineer, and design fighter planes for the military. She will definitely go away for school, so her days at home are numbered too.
I want them both to fly, but I will miss them so much when they're gone. 3 peas in a pod, we are.
It's also been nice to tackle a lot of projects around the house I've been wanting to get done, and just haven't had the time. The master bathroom is now totally remodeled, and a lot of other smaller, organizing and updating tasks are slowly but surely getting knocked off the to-do list.
Yesterday, youngest and I volunteered at the local zoo with Kaboom! to build a playground. It was really cool, and a lot of fun. It was amazing to watch what was an empty piece of ground at 9:00 a.m. be a completely finished playground by 3:30 p.m. Glad we could be a part of it.
Today, the garage got totally cleaned up and organized. I took the old cabinets from the master bathroom, added plywood tops and used them in the garage for storage. Amazing how much better I could organize everything that.
After all that, I think tonight I will take it easy and continue my Supernatural Season 3 marathon, lol.
