fear and panic in the air
i went to KH's house today to hang with her, her bf, and AA, a change from my normal day of 'sit at home and stare at the computer until my eyes bleed'. we were originally going to watch ponyo at one of the nearby movie theatres but KH absolutely had to play settler of catan first, which took us until ~2:00pm, at which point we found out that the nearest showing was at 4pm. and she needed to be home by 5pm.
so instead we ended up watching tropic thunder. apparently i was the only one who had seen it before, which meant i kept making running spoiler-filled commentary. i am surprised they did not collectively punch me in the face for it, but there isn't much to spoiler. probably because of that, it's a movie that actually holds up to multiple viewings - the explosions are still gorgeous, the jokes are still funny, the gore is still excessively hilarious, tom cruise in a body suit dancing to ludacris is still the most amazing thing in the world yesss.
in music-y news, today big bang's first full-length japanese album was released ☆ it's also their third anniversary, although one fan pointed out it's probably not the happiest anniversary for them, what with daesung still in the hospital undergoing treatment, gd still under fire for plagiarism charges (although it has been sort-of-not-really settled that it's 50% netizens over-reacting, 40% media blow up, and 10% actual company charges), seungri's musical kind of ignored lolol.

after the excitement of gd's solo debut and all its ensuing controversy, the release of big bang's japanese album was kind of ignored/anticlimatic haha. of the 11 tracks, only 5 are new - Intro, Bringing You Love, Stay, Follow Me, and Love Club. Baby Baby and Always are japanese remakes of korean songs, and Gara Gara Go!!, Top of the World, and Emotion were released in earlier singles.
it's not an especially groundbreaking album, but it's got some solid songs on it. i'm really like bringing you love despite its excessive autotune (although a cursory glance at omona tells me that i am apparently ALONE IN THIS lolwhat). stay is a little dull, although i can see it being a song that i'll have like a billion play counts on because it doesn't have any sharp corner/edges, and thereby is easily repeated. follow me i sincerely have no opinion on, and love club is just the lulziest song ever.
still not really feeling any of their korean->japanese covers, but i think that might just be because i'm so used to one version that listening to something that is almost but not quite the same is really jarring. eh w/e
also after forgetting them for like half a year, decided to poke around to see what ancafe was doing. they have a new album coming out soon (parallel world) and have already released a single (natsu koi natsu GAME) and pv which is really adorable (it has dancing! and multicolored plaid! and a lot of pink!). miku remains the most adorable thing ever, takuya has returned to something close to his old hairstyle and i love it, yuuki is. uh. yuuki, which is to say, still teased by the band, still the specialest snowflake ever, but i have to say i'm not really feeling teruki and kanon's new hair styles. well teruki's look okay in the pv, but in the photoshoot he looks really depressed and old which is. weird for teruki. D: kanon's new styling makes me go :\ :/ idk he was always the more rocker/generic visual kei (if you can call visual kei /generic/ lololol) member of the band and his sudden change towards a girlier, brighter look just kind of took me by surprise. MAYBE IT WILL GROW ON ME i am guessing not though.(￣ー￣)
the shots of their outfits for parallel world in neo genesis's 25th anniversary special looking amazing though a;ldfjas;dlkfj. i forgot how much i lovelovelove oshare kei fashion lol. so pretty and cute and colorful aaa.
no new blog updates from bandgyaru/cafexblog. :/ kind of surprising since the last time i check was back during my b-day, and they used to update ever week or so. owells.
not much going on in real life. dentist appointment tomorrow to fill in cavities and take xrays, hooray.
i should sincerely try and fix my sleep schedule some day but i've kind of given up. for example, sleep schedule from last night to today.
3am - 8am - sleep (5 hours)
8am-9am - wake up momentarily, blearily stare at the clock, decide it is Too Fucking Early, go back to sleep (1 hour)
9am - actually wake up, mutter darkly about the sun for 20 minutes while rolling around in bed in attempt to get back to sleep, give up, get out of bed
9am - 7:30pm - trawling webcomics, omona, book of face. hanging with KH. eating. music.
7:30pm - 8pm - shower
8pm - 10pm - fall asleep on bed after shower (2 hours)
10pm - woke up by mom yelling at me for not blow drying hair before taking a nap. also for sleeping so early
10pm - 2am - trawling jrockscans, omona, shousetsu bang*bang.
i am awesome, i know. :|
