That quote in the title is from Truman Capote - and it's true! I could have easily spent my entire time in Italy in Venice and had a fantastic time. I loved just wandering about, buying handbags (I only bought two), eating pizza, pasta and gelato.
As an added bonus I managed to miss the massive rainstorm that hit Northern Italy that week - it arrived in Venice as I was leaving.
