I had a good interview. That doesn't necessarily mean that I got the job, just that I had a good interview.
The really nice thing about the firm I've been talking to, is that they're refreshingly free of bullshit. They tell me what they want, I tell them what I want, and we see if there's a place where our wants meet in the middle. So, while I didn't go out of the way to advertise my flaws, I saw no problem in being frank about them if they came up in the conversation. How's your time management? Pretty sucky; I'm training myself on focusing on only one thing at a time. Much experience in big projects? No; that's one of the reasons I like the look of you. How much do you know about Linux troubleshooting? Well, let me start by unveiling this very large grin...
They've got other people interviewing. If they find someone they think's better suited to the job, then I'm glad and I wish the best to all concerned. If they offer me the job and I take it, then we start off from a basis of mutual honesty and respect, with nothing untoward to prove.
We interviewed, and they got to know me and I got to know them. What a refreshing change from all those hours playing those tactical smoke-and-mirrors games with affably clueless HR droids.
Also, if I do say so myself, I looked excellent in my oh-so-casual jacket and open-necked shirt. *wag*
