My sister is doing fairly well, all things considered, after her car accident a week ago. She's getting some of her movability back to her injured leg.

Oh, hey, Jack Kerouac! We're practically related - he was my sixth cousin once removed, sixth cousin twice removed, fifth cousin twice removed, and my sixth cousin once removed (Quebec genealogy looks like a spirograph).

I read On the Road a long time ago and I just recall I found it difficult to get into the mindset. I suppose I should read it again.

Nice! I'm somehow related to a Western fiction and non-fiction author named Bill Gulick, but I don't remember exactly how. Kerouac has more name recognition nowadays for sure, although Bill Gulick had his moment of fame in the 1960s, I think.

I enjoyed On the Road back in the day and had no problem getting into it, but that was the kind of stuff I was into back then. Now I'm not really interested in counterculture stuff; I'm interested in going against the grain politically.
