Apparently the recession hasn't been very kind to 17th Street Market. I was down in the Warehouse District for Tucson World RefugeeFEST this afternoon and decided to hit 17th Street Market while I was in the area. You might talk to the people in charge of produce at 17th Street Market. It's possible that they have temporary supply issues. Also it's possible that their inventory fluctuates seasonally. I think they're sort of picky about the quality of their produce, so that could mean that all things aren't always available, you know?

I haven't been to that market in so long!

That's a good point. I also think they source a lot of their stuff from local growers, so if someone went under, sold their farm to another owner, or something like that happened, it might have affected their inventory. Maybe I should check them out another time, and if it's the same case, I'll ask.

On the other hand, another thing that made me wonder if the recession has hit them (belatedly) is that they had a deli for a while, but it seems to have been closed up.
