Since we
brunchniks haven't been meeting for brunch these days, there hasn't been much
Scrabble in my life lately. Maybe I'll remedy that soon. I have a three-day weekend ahead, but already it seems to be filling up with things to do.
I went to
Bookmans yesterday, and, for lack of a better way to spend two dollars, I bought a copy of a book called
Vanguardia y revolución en las sociedades periféricas. It looked like some good political shit. I feel like reading something in Spanish, but I don't think
La otra historia de los Estados Unidos is a realistic undertaking. That book takes a while to read in English.
I can't remember what the last book I read in Spanish was. I think it was a translation of the
Tao Te Ching. That was a long time ago; I remember reading it before
Yoshimatsu moved to its new location.
Felicity gave me a Korean cookbook a few months ago. Maybe I'll study it this summer to figure out some way to approach my
nopalito kimchi experiment. I still haven't done that. I have a feeling I could adapt a recipe for cucumber kimchi.
Summer kimchis are nice.
