Sand That Blinds
Ive got sand in my hair, ears, on my face and in my lip balm, urgh! Stupidly we took the seafront way into town and there was very strong wind that was blowing sand into people's eyes to blind 'em! I tried to keep my eyes closed but to no avail, the bastard wind was soo strong it would try suffocating instead of blinding!
It was alright i suppose cuz we watched a cute Rottwieler bounding around excited about being near the beach with its owner, a skinny woman struggling to keep the beast of a dog from running into the busy road, heh.
We walked down Lilac Grove today the way to the Stray Cafe which is just at the end of our road. We have never walked that way since we've been here! Heh mainly cuz a ex-friend lives down there and i dont get on with her nor her horrid thick cockney family. Its funny how people can still hold grudges after 10 years odd! Nice people too who laughed at me when they saw me in the wheelchair in Redcar! Classy!
I went bonkers again in the pound shop, heh i only went in there to get my Nan a blow-up neck support like mine and i came out with two little 'Tippi' teddies (the ones you get on cards, with the red tags) a boy and a girl..really cute! Two balls of this wool type stuff in pastel green and purple and coloured knitting needles (cuz i'm making myself learn!). I'm really dumb when it comes to knitting, my mum has tried to show me but i always left looking confused! lol! i'm such a dimwit!
When we came home with all the bags, our neighbour Ruth came round and told us her husband, Alec had died on Sunday in hospital. I didnt know quite what to say, i just felt awful for her. I had a feeling something had happened to him. I'm going out 2mora now to get her a card and something else (not sure what yet) then stop off at the bookstore and get mum's b'day gifts and card. Both our neigbours now on both sides have lost their husbands and are living on their ownsomes. Life really seems a cruel joke sometimes.
I only found out today my auntie Gwen had gone back into hospital on Christmas day! My Nan doesnt even know if shes at home yet.
Great caring family member i am, huh?! I will never forgive myself if something happens to her.
I watched 'Ugly Betty' the other night, it was corney and abit plastic to say the least..quite offensive as well making out that people who wear glasses and braces are stereotyped as ugly. I'm sure the kids in playgrounds that are getting bullied will get it a 100 times worse now.
Why is it that this kinda so called comedy has to rely on making fun of people to get a laugh?! I think its a clear example of talentless writers who cant create anything with depth. Clever comedy is 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' now Larry David gets something thats always wrong so perfectly 'right'.
