Well this past week was spent at string camp at BGSU. I sat second chair in the top orchestra and also second chair in the combined orchestra, first chair was some boy from detroit who is crazy, but anyway, second out of 18 cellists is pretty good and I'm proud. Dr. Alan Smith, the cello professor at BG, told my orchestra director from school that I am "the kind of student teachers dream of" which really made me happy, you know, having that come from an internationally known (and highly, highly respected) cellist. He can't start private lessons with me this summer, we have to wait until fall, because he has to tour Greece teaching master classes and performing with various symphonies. I think this is a good opportunity for me. I hope this is a good opportunity for me. I hate being so goddamn ambitious.
