Two men stood apart from the rest, talking intently.
Strains of “We are the Champions” filtered to their corner and riotous laughter halted conversation.
“The 80’s. Remember? What days those were.”
“Yeah, crazy times.”
“The players. What football, what beautiful football.”
“Don’t forget the sex and drugs.”
The taller one cocked an eyebrow, staring down.
“Just kidding. Well, maybe.”
More laughs, then silence.
“It’ll be alright, you know. Don’t be afraid,” the older man counseled, embracing him tightly, intimately, before walking away.
“What was all that about?”
“You’ll know soon enough, Sandro. Sooner than you wish.”
