Why we should read this:
Although this is an AU, the characters of Ruud and Cris really come through very clearly. The author also manages two of the main, often ignored issues of footballslash: being a homosexual professional athlete and cheating on your spouse. The writing is incredibly beautiful, and the ending makes me cry every single time I read it. Also, (well, it is a prostitute AU, after all) there is some very hot sex.
I would say this is one of the best fics I have ever read, and I recommend it to anyone. If you like CRon/Ruud, I would urge you to read it as soon as you possibly can. If you're a bit leery of the idea of a prostitute AU, this isn't sleazy at all, and it is a beautiful love story without being too cloying or overly sweet.
