Over your shoulder I can see Pippo, his face expressionless. He lets it go on for so long before he says “Simone,” no threat, no pressure, his voice is soft but it’s time for you to leave. You kiss me again and say “I’ll see you.” I watch you with your brother, you are taller than him but the way you walk is exactly the same. As you go he puts his arm in yours, and you laugh at something that he says. Not very subtle, Pippo, I think, but you were always one to get your point across.
