It wasn't planned. They'd agreed not to meet up in the next few weeks; neither of them had picked up the phone, or texted a message, always true to what had been discussed hurriedly in the hallway of a bar so very busy on a Friday night.
But now they had met again, in a bar quite similar, and that sense of déjà-vu made them both smile at the same time although they both fought it, trying not to show weakness (or what they perceived as such) in front of the other.
"You've been well?"
"Is that of any concern?"

It was cold and rainy and the light seemed dimmed somewhat as Eder had followed Juninho into this bar in Lyon. He had barely been able to hear the other man; the glass in his hand and the condensed water chilling his fingers had seemed to be the realest thing in this room filled with smoke and loud voices.
"You won't regret coming here, you know. Lyon doesn't have the feel of a big club. Once you're playing here, you'll understand. We are all very agreeable, you know."
Juninho's laugh had been reassuring, Eder admitted, but something was still lacking.
