National team duty used to be a drag, like inhaling a cigarette, (a pleasant, addictive nicotine hit, but oh so unpleasant to your general health; club form suffers) the problem being in giving up (cold turkey) and withdrawal. Missing that extra bit of blood running through your veins, that little kick, that thrill (that only he can give; hands offside and a new cruder meaning to the term 'handball', but that fucking awesome feeling when you're fucking (awesome) and you're so close (to home) breathe); you're a long way from home tonight. It's time for a new distraction; phone rings…

The Azzuri will tell you when confronted with fact (just 23 minutes spent on field during their campaign,) that he was priceless behind the scenes. Canna smiles that sexy smile (complimented by those short fuck-me-now tufts of hair, courtesy of il Barber of Berlino) that tells nothing of the rendezvous the night before (get rid of the locks that tousle and tell, he said.) He agrees, (conquered) in victory goes bald.
A/N: If you didn't know, Oddo is nicknamed the Barber of Berlino as he is a trained barber and styled some of the Azzuri's hair during the WC '06 ;D

It's the bitter in the sweet (when your heart swells with pride; empty inside); every spare moment is spent watching (studying the opposition they both say, licking their lips, hungry; not just for victory) and waiting. But when home is broken (irony to a tee), internationals are embraced (fleeing the ruins) to a temporary existence, where all eyes are on the prize; nothing else will suffice.
