Character: Unnamed. Can be anyone, but in my head, it's Paolo Maldini.
Warning: May read as a death-fic, but not necessarily. Also, the "dying" person is not the main character.

"Please, speak to me!"
He placed a hand on the other man's forehead; panic spreading in his body. The skin was cold against his fingers, and he felt hope vanishing too fast. Carefully, he caught the limp wrist with his free hand, not sure what he was searching for.
Pulse? Hope?
The tears were streaming down his cheeks now, and he shouted again.
"Please, no! Please!"
The loud scream woke him up and dragged him back to reality with a start, but he kept shivering for a while after sitting up in bed.
At least it wasn't real. This time.
