It might have appeared to be pretty careless, their first real touch, the first one Luis consciously remembered. Nothing more than a chance meeting, maybe.
They had run into the other in the middle of Milan, there had been a courteous nod and a polite smile like you did when you met someone from the other team. So simple.
Luis surely wouldn't have spent four hours contemplating the wisdom of finding out Andrea's number hadn't the other midfielder touched his hand in passing, fingers outstretched, almost tangling them with his own, no doubt about the intention, the meaning, the promise.

Although there are most certainly worse ways to wake up than a gentle hand running through his hair, Filippo decides to answer that with a rumbling complaint and a failed attempt to swat away said hand.
"Leave me be, Paolo," he groaned and managed to be half-asleep again when the other man replied.
"We'll be late."
"Mmmmh."
"It is late. Come on. I made breakfast? There are painkillers."
Filippo makes the giant effort to roll over and squint at Paolo. "You could have stopped me. You know how it ends. And by God, could you please stop looking so cheerful?!"

But he had known Filippo long enough to be used to not only his mood swings, but also his little whims that would have been indications of a good and proper midlife crisis, hadn't Pippo shown them for the last decade, give or take.
So instead of wondering or even worrying what was wrong this time, Christian sat down on the stairs and watched Filippo try to fix the tyre of his brand-new bike that had miraculously gone flat.
Being successful did look differently though. Christian didn't bother pointing this out.
