Freddie stirred at the soft touch, loathe to get up. His side hurt. Fortunately not as bad as before.
"I have to go," Jens said softly. "I'll see you soon, yeah?"
"Of course." Freddie threaded his fingers into Jens' hair. As always he sounded surer than he felt. He knew he wasn't fully healed, but he knew he had to go. As much as he fought it, this was his last gasp.
"I'd wish you luck, but…"
"I know." Freddie laughed and kissed him, the sort of goodbye kiss that was calculated to distract Jens, but never worked. "Until Austria."
