Note: Lyon bought Ederson during the winter transfer window; he's joining them this summer, leaving Nice (and poor Hugo).
Eder knows people will say it's the responsibility of being first choice, will credit it to experience. He knows, though, that the change in Hugo has only come since Eder decided to leave.
Eder had thought it would break Hugo. He'd agonized for months over leaving; how to tell him. But Hugo had responded with a certainty and resolve Eder had never expected (Eder felt awful for never expecting).
Suddenly, Hugo was the strong one; suddenly, he was the source of stability. Panting (lost), sprawled on top of him (lost), Eder was afraid to move (lost). "What will we do?"

Hugo felt the bed shift under Eder's weight, but he didn't stop reading until his magazine was pulled from his hands.
"Why aren't you mad?"
"What?" He stopped thinking about reading once Eder straddled him.
"Why aren't you mad at me? About leaving?"
Hugo was instantly distracted by the proximity of Eder's thighs, and lost himself in running his hands up them, turning his nails in just to hear Eder gasp; just to make him grab his wrists.
"Hugo. Why?"
Hugo shrugged and looked up, his hands still making their way up Eder's thighs, against ever-weakening resistance. "We'll work it out."
