In front of his house there was a small grocer’s shop.
The first day he arrived to Milano he went to buy there some bread and cheese and, and, from that very day - when he walked into the shop and Marcella (or la Marcella, as they say here), the shopkeeper, started laughing at his accent - he never stopped.
Things changed (supermarkets, team-mates, thoughts, hopes, Sol and her smile and those horrible buildings Paula always complained about) but Javier knows two things will never change; la Marcella, her small shop and the smell of warm bread and his love for Inter.

He still remembers goals (and penalties), matches, losses (confused images of shirts, supporters, football players that easily become superstars but that, sadly, are being forgotten fast, too), and those songs - every week, every time (again and again but they never lose their meaning and they still hurt) “you never win”.
He remembers interviews, journalists, stupid questions, team-mates letting him down (again and again but this never loses its meaning and it sill hurts) but he also remembers never giving up.
And now it’s “we win without stealing” and Javier is glad, once again, he was loyal to the one he loves.

Javier sighs (why it has to be so difficult?) “Clearly, not everybody likes you since Marco doesn’t.”
“It’s about my nose, isn’t it? Do you think it’s too big?”
“It’s okay, Ibra. You look good!”
“Could you please stop it, Cuchu? At least don’t go along with him in this story.”
“Fiiine.”
(Silence)
“So - are you sure he doesn’t like me?”
