Daniel leaned on the tall fence and watched Martín walk across the field, back to the locker room. His eyes followed every movement, travelled over every inch of his former boyfriend’s body, stopping at his hands. Daniel swallowed. He could still see these hands travel over José’s body, could hear the moans of the younger man. It had been weeks. Weeks full of tears and dark nights with the final realization that he needed Martín.

Daniel started walking, followed Martín and smiled at the certain knowledge that he would be able to forgive, to trust again. He was a believer.

Marcell stood in the now empty apartment and swallowed. He had been home here for the last years and it had been wonderful years. He started walking through the rooms one last time, here and there gently touching a wall, a window or a doorframe. Countless memories would be left in here, of lazy Sunday afternoons spent on the couch. Of the housewarming party the police had ended. Marcell smiled melancholically.

Finally, he grabbed the last of his bags, took the blue-white Bavarian flag his friends had given him and quietly closed the door behind him. His path went on.
