Emptyness, coldness, despair...he rolled his tongue around the words, tasting them to all extent. And he watched Daniel’s every move while he ran his rounds, eyes locked on the tall figure of his team mate and former friend. Friend, lover and partner his heart told him and the sudden pain at the past tense took almost all of his breath away. His eyes slid to José. The short pleasure had not been worth his daily hell.
He swallowed, trying to get rid of the bitterness, without success. Maybe he should stop trying. After all, bitterness was the taste of betrayal.

Christmas was supposed to be cold, snowy, with friends and - indispensable - cinnamon stars. Even more indispensable was…Timo’s thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell. Sighing, he stood up opened the door and was greeted with a bag of star-shaped somethings dangling before his eyes. “Merry first advent” someone sad and then a certain Bavarian defender wound his arms tightly around Timo’s neck. Suddenly, Christmas was a lot closer to Timo.

Lukas watches as Bastian bustles around in the kitchen. Salting here, peppering there, stirring in all pots. Taking a few steps into the room, he grabs a spoon and tastes a few drops of the gravy. Almost immediately, his face distorts into a grimace. “You aren’t serious, are you?” he asks his boyfriend who looks up questioningly. “Why?” “This is totally over salted!” Bastian comes closer and also takes a spoon full. His reaction resembles Lukas’. For a few seconds silence reigns. Then Bastian laughs and pulls Lukas into his arms. “Well, you know about love and salt, don’t you?”
